OK, the title may be a bit of an exaduration but I was none the less very chuffed with one line in a review of a conference paper of mine that was accepted this week. One of the core tenets of all the work done for the VTIE project has been that everything we do should be available to everyone so nothing we do should ever be dependent on proprietary software. We always take some time in our papers to explain this policy and the reasons behind it so it’s really nice when a reviewer comments “Good comments about interoperability and proprietory,vs. open source, systems.”. Good to see we’re getting the message across!
